St Ives Sub Aqua Club
BSAC 0833 • Cambs SCUBA Diving Club, Since 1975

The Committee

Chairman
Anna Rudd
I joined the club at the very beginning of 2014 to learn how to dive in preparation for a trip to Thailand. Since then, I’ve continued to develop my diving skills and have earned several qualifications, including BSAC Dive Leader, Theory Instructor and Open Water Assistant Instructor. I love scuba diving year-round, both in the UK and abroad, and I'm always happy to talk about it with anyone interested.
Before stepping into the role of Chair, I served in various committee positions, and I always enjoy supporting the club and its members.

Diving Officer
Jon Chitty
Experienced scuba expedition leader having taken expeditions on marine conservation projects to Belize, New Zealand, Egypt, Israel, Holland, Germany, Italy and Sardinia; as well as locations around the UK and Scotland. On two occasions I was a member of a Joint Services Expedition to St Helena that was awarded the annual Duke of Edinburgh’s award to the British Sub Aqua Club. My work also led to an honorary Fellowship with the Royal Geographic Society.

Qualified as a BSAC Advanced Diver and Advanced Instructor; and my favourite diving experience was diving with a pod of 12 dolphins off Ascension Island, where two of them played with our surface team in our RHIB and its bow wave, which we could see from our vantage point on the bottom at 30 mts; and the rest were flying in formation around us at the bottom. It lasted about 20 mins and was just unbelievab

Training Officer
John Holmes
My first dive was in Malta, 1968. It was a failure, I could not clear my ears. I joined BSAC 1976 and enjoyed diving in Germany France, Cyprus and Belize until I got married and ran out of time and money. I rejoined BSAC in 2014 thanks to my son making me. I have enjoyed diving with the club.

Treasurer
Susan Green

I have recently returned to diving, currently working toward sports diver training. I have really appreciated becoming part of a local club and am looking forward to doing more UK diving. I work at Peterborough City Hospital as a consultant in the Liaison Psychiatry Service.

I joined SISAC and started my Ocean Diver training in 2023 fulfilling an ambition to get underwater that started in the marine biology module of my degree. Never expect to be jumping in to 6C water at Stoney to escape -1C air temperature and actually enjoy it!
